Signing Up for 2021/2022

Your membership is not active until ALL components – membership request, payment and WWCC – are received and processed by the Club Office. You are not insured for club related activities until your membership has been processed.

Acceptance or rejection of any membership request is at the Board's discretion, refer to Jan Juc SLSC Constitution, Part II Clause 8.4.

MEMBERSHIP COMPONENTS

Membership Request

EACH Club member (including Life Members and ALL participating family members) must submit a Membership Request as it contains your membership & liability declarations.

After submitting a Membership Request, follow the Online Payments link to make your payment.

Renew Membership

  • Ensure you have created a Members Area account prior to starting the renewal process.
  • One adult's account per family is sufficient as parents can renew their own, their spouse's and their children's memberships.
  • At least one parent of a nipper must also renew.

Individual

  • Log in to your Members Area account.
  • Navigate to Memberships > Renewals, Payments & Transfers
  • Click the ‘Renew’ button.
  • Review your details.
  • Tick the declaration and submit.

Family

  • Log in to the parent’s Members Area account.
  • Navigate to Memberships > Family
  • Click the ‘Renew Memberships’ link.
  • Select (tick) each member to be renewed.
  • Tick the declaration and submit.

To add a new family member:

  • Navigate to Memberships > Family
  • Click the ‘View/Edit’ link.
  • Click ‘Join New Person & Add’ button
  • Complete details.
  • Tick the declaration and submit.

New Membership

  • A nipper MUST join as part of a family.
  • Click here to join.

 

Transfer Membership

Ensure you have created a Members Area account prior to starting the transfer process.

Individual

  • Log in to your Members Area account.
  • Navigate to Memberships > Renewals, Payments & Transfers
  • Click the 'Join/Transfer to a new organisation' link.
  • Review your details.
  • Submit.

Family

  • Log in to the parent’s Members Area account.
  • Navigate to Memberships > Family
  • Click the ‘View/Edit’ link.
  • Click the ‘Join/Transfer to a new club’ button
  • Select (tick) each member to be transferred.
  • Review your details.
  • Submit.

Membership Payment

  • Click here if you didn't follow the Online Payments link at the end of the Membership Request step
  • Create meaningful transaction descriptions – this will help track your payments over the season.

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

  • ALL members MUST have a WWCC Card if they are age 18+ and:
    • Patrol;
    • are Nipper parents;
    • assist with junior programs; or
    • wish to access the change rooms.
  • Login to your WWCC account to add us as a registered organisation – make sure to use our Postal Address (PO Box 179, Torquay 3228) – do NOT use our street address as it does not have a mailbox.
  • Go to our Member & Child Protection webpage for further details.

Starfish Nipper Registration

In addition to your membership components (above), you MUST submit a registration form for any nipper who wishes to particpate in the Starfish Nipper Program – an all-abilities Nipper Program designed for young people from the age of 6 with special needs.

If you do not have a Google account, you will need to create one to allow file uploads in the form, Click on the form link below then click the "create account" button – after you create your account you will be able to access the form.

Age Group Nipper Registration

In addition to your membership components (above), you MUST submit the correct Age Group Nipper Registration form for any nipper who wishes to participate in the Nipper Summer Holiday Program or the Nipper Surf Sorts Program.

 

Preliminary Swim Assessment for Age Group Nippers

Evidence of the nipper’s swimming competency MUST be provided before participating in any water-based activities, Evidence can take the form of:

  1. A nipper’s Competition Skills Evaluation (S-Badge) from the 2020/2021 season.
  2. Assessment by the Age Group Coach at a pool based session (venue and date to be advised).
  3. Return of this Preliminary Swim Assessment form to the Club Office after it is signed by a parent AND a qualified coach/swim teacher/lifeguard.
    • This form is MANDATORY for all U7-U9 nippers and any new nippers in other age groups if you miss the assessment opportunity outlined in option 2.
    • If you do not have access to a swim school or pool to complete this form, then at worst, a carer will need to be in the water with their child until they can be assessed.

Age Group Nipper Communications

Communications to Nippers is via Team App – including newsletters and urgent relocation instructions.
